MULTI-PURPOSE GEOINFORMATION PORTAL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MINING AND GEOLOGY “ST. IVAN RILSKI”

ABSTRACT
This publication describes the development of an enterprise GIS portal and web-application, allowing user upload of borders of planned exploration areas (in various GIS formats) and analysis of conflict zones with existing sanitary-protective zones. All services are created with ESRI Enterprise 10.7.1. (Server, Portal, Datastore, Pro and Web AppBuilder), licensed for education and research in University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski”. All data is acquired according the Access to Public Information Act. The web-application provides a convenient and interactive access to data for a wide range of users in the raw material industry, including mining companies, government institutions and researchers.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. ENG. Asparuh Kamburov has majoring Geodesy and Mine surveying at University of Mining and Geology - Saint Ivan Rilski, and since 2011 has been on an employment contract at the department of the same name. He has worked for companies in the oil and gas exploration and production sector in concession areas in Bulgaria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco and Cambodia. Participant in XXI and XXV Bulgarian Antarctic expeditions as a project manager related to high-precision GNSS measurements and ground-based laser scanning. He is participant in a number of projects related to the application of web-based GIS technologies, incl. Heat map of Bulgaria. For 5 years he has been actively involved in the communication of science, organizing annual events for the general public within the framework of the European Night of Scientists, the Sofia Science Festival, etc.
